Michelle Malkin and William Gheen Spew Nothing but Hate for Obama’s New Deportation Guidelines

gheen and malkinLast week, the Obama Administration released new guidelines for deportations, and we’ve spent the days since compiling press releases, editorials, and other statements responding to the announcement.  Some have lauded the development, some have criticized it, some have adopted a wait-and-see approach, and some have, well, expressed their anger in a somewhat controversial manner.

One of them is William Gheen, a lobbyist for the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, a group supported by the John Tanton-funded hate group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).  He went on FM radio yesterday to talk about the Obama Administration’s new policy, and not surprisingly, skipped having a discussion about who Obama should or should not deport.  His rant had more to do with “White America” and “illegal and violent” “extra-political activities.” According to Gheen:

What Janet Napolitano has spent most of her time doing in the last couple of months has been, one, preparing the new spy network that’s available now, the new data-collecting, see everything you do online, beyond the normal terrorist list that they’re creating, they’re creating a much larger list now of people who might be troublesome here in the country. And putting out videos and propaganda telegraphing what I believe to be a conflict with White America they’re preparing for after they get another 10 or 15 million people in the country to back them up…

We’re no longer referring to him as President Barack Obama, our national organization has made the decision and made the announcement we now refer to him as Dictator Barack Obama. That’s what he is. And basically at this point, if you’re looking for a peaceful, political recourse there really isn’t one that we can think of, and I’m really not sure what to tell people out there than I guess they need to make decisions soon to just accept whatever comes next or some type of extra-political activities that I can’t really talk about because they’re all illegal and violent.

Gheen has also previously accused Obama of treason for not doing more to secure the border (even though the border is better-funded and better patrolled than it’s ever been before). Now he thinks the Obama Administration is holding off on deporting certain immigrants because Obama is building a secret spy network against White America.  Dangerously, Gheen’s prescriptive solution involves violent activities against the President of the United States. Advocating for the downfall of a president seems pretty treasonous to me — and this is deeply disturbing, considering this man’s reach in the anti-immigrant movement.

There’s more.  We’re bringing you a two-fer today, with our encore coming courtesy of Michelle Malkin.  You may have heard of her.  She makes a living stringing together the most repulsive, inflammatory language she can find and uses it to describe even mildly progressive policies.  She’s the one who implied that Senator John Kerry (D-MA) shot himself on purpose to win those purple hearts during the 2004 Swift Boat Veterans for Truth episode, and wrote a book saying the WWII-style internment of Japanese-Americans should be used on Arab- and Muslim-Americans today.

Even Republicans can’t stand her.  Fox News reporter Geraldo Rivera has called her “the most vile, hateful commentator I’ve ever met in my life…she actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors,” while Republican operative Bronwyn Lance Chester has said that “she habitually mistakes shrill for thought-provoking and substitutes screaming for discussion…she’s the worst of what’s wrong with punditry today.  She adds absolutely nothing to genuine political discourse.”

On Monday she appeared on Fox News to say that the Obama administration is ramming through an “illegal alien student bailout” by “administrative fiat” to “appease” the “left-wing, open-borders lobby.”

“You do not belong here,” she said of those who are here without documents.  “The system is such a wreck that they’re unable to be able to tell who’s here as a true potential danger to the country and who’s not.”

Here’s a hint to Michelle Malkin: the true potential dangers to the country are probably not the hardworking immigrant students who were brought to the U.S. when they were young and have never thought about committing a crime in their lives.  The true potential dangers are probably the violent criminals who should be rooted out and deported.  Obama’s policy announcement makes the latter more possible by wasting fewer resources on the former.  It’s sensible policy, and we know that extreme right-wingers, such as yourself, have a hard time finding reasonable arguments to make against it, so they’re forced to resort to nonsensical and xenophobic attacks.
