March to the polls 2010: GOTV Efforts in Colorado

by Maria Ponce on 10/18/2010 at 11:21am

Last week, America’s Voice en Español was in Denver talking to voters as part of the new series: March to the Polls 2010. Check out some pictures we’ve been taking here.

In Colorado, the Latino vote could play a key role in several races, including that of Democrat Michael Bennett against the Republican candidate and Tea Party favorite, Ken Buck, for the United States Senate.

The Mi Familia Vota Civic Participation Campaign is one of the organizations in Colorado that is seeking to mobilize the Latino Vote.

We visited their offices and spoke to Jessie Ulibarri, State Director of Mi Familia Vota, as well as an 18 year-old Latina volunteer canvasser and first-time voter, Ana.  Listen to their take on the voter mobilization efforts happening in Colorado:

We also ventured out into the suburbs in Denver and joined volunteer canvassers, Jackie and Wendy, and knocked on people’s doors. Listen to their take on the efforts including a voter’s personal motivation for voting in the upcoming November elections.

America’s Voice Español is on Twitter and on Facebook. Follow us or become a fan to receive the latest updates on the immigration debate — en Español of course!
