Jews United for Justice to Eric Cantor: Show Us Your Values, Pass Immigration Reform

Check out this new video from the Jews United for Justice–one of the many groups working to push immigration reform forward this year.

The video is from Jesse, who grew up attending the BBYO Jewish youth group with Eric Cantor’s kids.  Rep. Cantor (R-VA) wrote his college recommendation letter, and once hosted Jesse when he needed housing in Richmond.

But now, Jesse says, he’s disappointed in the Congressman, who has not done enough to help pass immigration through the House.

As Jesse says in the video:

The Jewish tradition teaches us 36 times to be kind to the stranger, for we were once strangers in the land of Egypt…

As Jews, and as Americans, we have a moral obligation to act. I’m calling on Congressman Cantor to put his Jewish values into action. I’m calling on Congressman Cantor to extend the same hospitality he showed me to the over 11 million people who’ve come to this country in search of a better tomorrow. And I’m calling on Congressman Cantor to let the House of Representatives vote on comprehensive immigration reform.
