The progressive super-conference is expecting its largest crowd ever and its biggest conference yet.  In the past, notable conference guests have included Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), now-Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), and many more.  Each year, some of the biggest names and brightest thinkers in the progressive movement come to Netroots Nation to make new connections, beef up their organizing skills, and work with others on issues they care about.  And each conference has helped strengthen the progressive alliance between activists for immigration, education, labor issues, women’s rights, LGBT rights, and others—strengthening alliances, deepening relationships, and furthering collaborations.

This promises to be an especially exciting year for immigration at Netroots Nation—come join us as we discuss the progress of legislation this year and what individuals and organizations can do to help make immigration reform a reality.

America’s Voice Education Fund believes in supporting our fellow immigration activists, so we’re sponsoring 10 scholarships to help bring you to the conference!  Our scholarships include cost of flight, registration, and hotel.  But the scholarship application process ends May 7, so get your applications in now!

If you still need more convincing, check out what one of our past scholars had to say about attending Netroots in Minneapolis, Minnesota:

There are hundreds of activists like me that have not yet made it to the Netroots Nation convention. It is imperative that more people of color participate, and that more people of all walks of life bring their voices and ideas to this massive meeting of progressive minds. I have seen firsthand the powerful effect that it can have on the progressive movement. Thanks to the scholarship I received, I was able to attend and even host a panel on how environmental issues affect Latinos, being that another one of my big passions besides immigration is environmental protection. My panel was titled “Beyond Environmental Justice” and afterwards I had people from big name progressive organizations coming up to me to hear more of what I had to say.

It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I even got to meet and talk to some of the role models that I have from afar admired for a number of years such as Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos and Congressman Luis Gutierrez.

If you’re already going to Netroots yourself, please forward this onto someone you think should apply.
