Donald Trump’s executive orders on immigration are a dramatic, radical, and extreme assault on immigrants and the values of our country, which is why we cannot waste any time in taking actions to resist them.

California’s Senate President Pro Tempore, Kevin de León, has introduced the California Values Act as a means of resistance against Donald Trump’s racist attacks on hard working immigrant families.

If enacted, the California Values Act would prohibit state and local resources from being used for mass deportations, prevent local resources from facilitating the creation of a national registry based on religion, and keep schools, hospitals, and courts accessible to all Californians regardless of immigration status.

California has an opportunity to defeat Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda and prevent millions of families from being separated, but we must act now!

If we want to keep California as the beacon for immigrant rights policies in the nation, then state lawmakers must pass  California Values Act to protect immigrants from Donald Trump!
